2025 NSC May/June Exam Timetable—Overview

The Department of Basic Education has released the official May/June 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) timetable:

Week 1

  • 8 May
    • Session 1 (09:00): Computer Applications Technology (CAT) Paper 1 (Practical)
    • Session 2 (14:00): Business Studies Paper 1  

Week 2

  • 12 May (Monday)
    • 09:00: English Home Language P1 (2 hrs)
    • 14:00: English First Additional Language P1 (2 hrs)
  • 13 May (Tuesday): Business Studies P2 (Afternoon, 2 hrs)
  • 14 May (Wednesday): Afrikaans HL P1 & Afrikaans FAL P1 (2 hrs each)
  • 15 May (Thursday): Mathematics P1 & Mathematical Literacy P1 (3 hrs each)
  • 16 May (Friday): Geography P1 (Morning, 3 hrs)  

Week 3

  • 19 May (Monday): Mathematics P2 & Mathematical Literacy P2 (3 hrs each)
  • 20 May (Tuesday): Geography P2 (Morning, 3 hrs) & Accounting P1 (Afternoon, 2 hrs)
  • 21 May (Wednesday): CAT P2 (Theory) (Afternoon, 3 hrs)
  • 22 May (Thursday): English HL P2 (2½ hrs) & English FAL P2 (2½ hrs)
  • 23 May (Friday): Physical Sciences P1 (3 hrs)  

Week 4

  • 26 May (Monday): Physical Sciences P2 (3 hrs)
  • 27 May (Tuesday): History P1 (3 hrs) & Accounting P2 (2 hrs)
  • 28 May (Wednesday): Afrikaans HL P2 & Afrikaans FAL P2 (2½ hrs each)
  • 29 May (Thursday): English HL P3 (3 hrs) & English FAL P3 (2½ hrs)
  • 30 May (Friday): Life Sciences P1 (2½ hrs)  

May–June Mid-Year Summary

  • Start: 8 May 2025
  • End: 30 May 2025
  • Covers a wide range of subjects across both sessions.  

2025 NSC Final (Oct/Nov) Exam Timetable — Highlights

The final NSC exams for Grade 12 are scheduled for October and November 2025:

  • Exam Period: 21 October to 27 November 2025  
  • Notable Dates:
    • 21 October: CAT P1 (Practical)
    • 31 Oct: Mathematics P1
    • 3 Nov: Mathematics P2
    • 7 Nov: Physical Sciences P1
    • 14 Nov: Life Sciences P1
    • 29 Oct: English Home Language P1
    • Final practical rewrites for IT and CAT on 27 November
